Binyamina-Giv’at Ada, Israel, April 17, 2026 – SonicEdge, a pioneer in advanced acoustic solutions, has been awarded a prestigious Bronze Edison Award as part of the 2026 award cycle. The award, presented in the Wearables for Safety and Resilience category, recognizes SonicEdge’s SonicTwin100 (ST100) – the world’s smallest integrated MEMS speaker-microphone module – as a groundbreaking technology redefining how sound is generated and experienced.
The ST100 disrupts the outdated architecture that has dominated the audio industry for 150 years. Co-packaging a MEMS (Micro-Electronic-Mechanical-Systems) microphone with a modulated-ultrasound MEMS speaker in an intelligent 8 x 4 x 1 mm module, the solution enables new form and function possibilities for modern-day audio devices. Merging sound generation and sensing, the technology enables reduced audio latency, superior active noise cancellation (ANC), new in-ear biometric sensing, and seamless support for AI-powered wearables.
ST100’s ultra-compact size also allows for sleeker, more comfortable, and more energy efficient device form factors, eliminating the trade-offs between performance and aesthetics that product designers have been constrained by for decades. Not only does this unlock new possibilities for earbuds, ultra-thin smartphones, and smart glasses, but also health devices such as hearing aids.
Being honored by the Edison Awards is a significant milestone for SonicEdge and our mission in helping the world sound better,” said Dr. Moti Margalit, CEO and Co-founder of SonicEdge. “We developedSonicTwin100 to challenge the century-old hardware constraints of the audio industry and prove that sound performance did not have to be limited by form factor. The Edison Awards’ recognition underscores the importance of breaking these barriers and setting new benchmarks for what’s possible in audio technology.”
Now in its 39th year, the Edison Awards honor technological excellence on a global stage. The awards committee evaluates nominees on their solution’s concept, value, and real-world impact, and celebrates the trailblazing innovators who drive their industries forward. Selected from thousands of submissions, spanning fields from materials science to AI-driven technology, SonicEdge joins an elite group of finalists and winners – including Dell, HP Inc., and Samsung.
SonicEdge’s SonicTwin100 demonstrates a high level of technical rigor and forward-thinking that reflects the fundamental ethos of the Edison Awards,” said Frank Bonafilia, Executive Director of the Edison Awards. “The awards committee recognized the solution’s system-level innovation, as well as the broad impact this technology can have on the wearable devices we rely on everyday – particularly as audio becomes increasingly central to next-generation connected experiences.”
SonicEdge was announced as a Bronze award winner at the Edison Awards gala in Fort Myers, Florida, on 16 April 2026.
